Changes....

Hmmmm....

I am so bored...
When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up an be an adult. As the malayalam saying goes...

"Ikkarre ninnaal, akkarre pachha.." (which derives to : The grass is always greener on the other side.)

And now... Look at me. What am I doing? Idling away my time and sleep in front of the silly computer. Typing code and not so code and in god knows what languages.

Language used to be a medium for communication between human beings. Today, when I ask a kid what languages he knows, the imprompto answer - "C, C++, VC++, Java, C#, COBOL, Perl... Blah blah blah..." (Ok.. my language vocabulary end there)

There was a time when I had time to gaze at the moon and stars,
Now star reminds me the notaion for a pointer variable...

There was a time when I used to listen to the frogs croaking after the rain,
Now the only frog that i can hear is the "Crazy Frog" pop album by some crazy guy...

There was a time when a running mouse used to freak me out,
Now I freak out if my mouse does not scroll...

Life has changed so much... I wish I was still a kid. Thinking only about the present moment and enjoying it every bit. No responsiblities, no worries. No fear of keeping oneself updated of the emerging technologies of the ever progressing world.

Life was so much simpler.... So fresh....
So pure... So easy.. So relaxed... So comfortable....

Ah but yes!!! But for not the above mentioned technological advancements, I would be still writing on a piece of paper and running about a publisher to get it published so that others can read it [ So now... What Say????]

Interesting note indeeed Rejitha...
Have you ever thought for yourself.. Why are you here? and what is the sole purpose of your existence? while you are spending long hours with your codes? I believe your becoming a software engineer was not a miracle. And.. Are you getting the same excitement of your childhood while deciphering a code or trying something new on your computer?
It would be interesting if you could try again lookngi at the moon and the stars with the same excitement Will you be able to try again for curosity?
i hope you will be excited to get back to your college days and know more about the stars from your physics books or to explore into the astrophysics and relativity? How exciting it would be to re learn and explore the high school bioloby with the new wisdom you have around and look into the tiny elements of life as genes and DNAs and base sequences as life building blocks?
I remember how excited i was as a little child trying to burn ants using a small watch glass on sun rays.. least i knew the Fourier transforms or focussing..Still even now, each time I put a lens on a laser beam, I am excited whether, its a Fourier transform or a convolution operation..
I believe life is full of excitement. Just you have to explore it. ...Rejitha....its the way we look at it... if you are able to answer to the basic question of existence, and why are you here, then you will be able to define your orbit and spin around in a world of excitement. otherwise spinning around the boring monotonous life kills our excitement and we cease to live.
Wishing you all the best always.

This applies to everywhere. Almost similar proverb is there is Tamil too.

And the English equivalent "Distance lends enchantment to the view" and "Familiarity breeds contempt".

hey reji , idhella rombo over , why the hell wud u wnat to go back to the jungle and hear live frogs , iam sure they are pretty gross... ;)
after enjoying the fruits of technology and living in an advanced civilization, i think the lack of things like internet , cable and all tat will be tough to take for long..
i am very happy with this life, wish i had some company though hehe

Karthik i do agree with u...but one thing you have forgot...tat is happiness. Can u touch ur heart and say that u have the same happiness/enjoyment in ur life which you had in ur school/college days.No way. I know there are difficulties every where ..even during school days abt the exams...but we had no more tension other than tat. But now, every time we get into some wrk, still there will be hundreds of things going in ur mind...As we grow the, saddness mounts and the happiness fades away !
